This guide was originally made by a member of Mystic Mayhem to help those who are struggling with not falling for tricks of scamming and such. Credit goes to 'Nyan Cat' for creating this helpful thread. Here are some tips to prevent scamming. There is a lot of scamming going on in Free Realms these days.
The TCG Scam
This one is very common. The person may say "Do you have any items in TCG? I will trade HEAPS of coins!" You may say " I have got a ____________. How much will you pay?" They will probably reply back as for example "I will trade 200,000 coins or more!" Maybe if u had rocker or goth clothes they might say a million. "Alright". "K trade with me in TCG". You forgot that they can scam, or something. "Alright" You go into TCG and trade them the item. When you come out they may say "Haha, no coins. Scammed you!" Or they just may port away thinking that you might not know there name.
Trick Scam
They may be paying coins for a item. Once you go in trade you trade the item and you click tick. They remove the coins and you do not relise. Or if you notice they may trick you in anyway. Plus, if they click the tick first, just as u are gonna do it they remove the coins and you have already clicked tick and they quickly click the tick too. So remember you always should have that eye on the cross button, no matter what.
The SC Scam
They may say "If you do ________ I will give you a SC code" . Or you may trade them something for it. Once you do it, or give them the item, they will probably not give it to you.
Can I try It on?
A few people say "Can I try your ________ on? It is really cool! I'll give it back asap!" You don't really relise what they will do. "Sure!" You trade it to them. They delete you, poty away or log out and KEEP that item forever.
I am new. I need coins.
Some people who ARE NOT new come up to you and say "hi. I am new I am broke, I need coins and items please help D:" You say "Aww sure!" Trade them either coins or items. You don't relise, they are NOT new. They dress like a new character or go in a job that is not even leveled.
I need your username.
This is like a hack more of. But I just put it here so you KNOW. People can go up to you and say "Do you want FREESC?" "Do you want to be a leader in my guild?" "Do you want to get FREE COINS AND CLOTHES?" Then you say "YES!" Then they say "Okay but I am going to need your log in info for it tho." You say "Ok sure!" They log in, they either steal or trade it away, or sell it all and you never get your account back cause they might change the password.
Here are some ways you can prevent scamming.
The TCG Scam
BEFORE make sure they give you the coins.
Don't really use as coins if you don't know them well, trade TCG items.
Trick Scam
Always have your mouse key over the cross and look at the cross & the coins the WHOLE time.
If they whisper you stuff don't listen, don't even cross it or click reply!
SC Scam
Make sure they trade you the coins FIRST.
Only do something not big or trade them something not big. So if you get scammed you won't loose anything. Trade them rares you have of 3 items, or trade them something that u dont need, use and thats not THAT MUCH of a rare.
