This is a guide to properly share an image hosted by ImageShack on Nerdz's forum.
First, I should mention that among the staff here at Nerdz, ImageShack is the least preffered host. There are multiple other image hosts available, that we would much rather see our community embrace. Like, Photobucket. We recommend using one of those, if possible, before choosing ImageShack. You may even notice, that the images in this tutorial are ironically not hosted by ImageShack.
We have a strict policy that disallows URLs to any site that hasn't been approved. This includes the watermark link that is included by ImageShack if a member uses their formatted "Forum Code"
The work around is to copy the "Direct Link" and format it using the controls available on Mystic Mayhem's advanced editor. Here is what the "Direct Link" looks like on ImageShack's service: BUT! It will work with any Direct link.
1. Copy the code from this text box to your clip board.
2. Paste the code into Nerdz's advanced editor. You can find the advanced editor by clicking "Reply" on any post, or "Add New Thread" in any forum.
3. Use your mouse to highlight the code you selected.
4. Click the "Insert Image" button on the advanced editor's controls bar. The button is highlighted in green here:
All you have to do is paste the code after you click the Picture above where it says "Image URL"
---
Using your new code as a signature:
5. Following step 4 above, highlight all of the text in white text box of the advanced editor. Copy all of the text, including the IMG tags to your clipboard. This is the code you will use to share your image as a signature.
6. Paste the code you copied to the clipboard in step 5, into the text box on your Modify Profile page for your signature. That's it!
Good luck, and let's keep Nerdz a safe site for everyone!
